Giving to the Sweet Potato Project means you will be helping…
Empower Youth in Disadvantaged STL Communities
Since 2012, SPP has provided summer jobs for at-risk youth (ages 16-21) who plant and harvest sweet potatoes on vacant lots while learning valuable skills in marketing, branding, sales, product development and distribution. This year, SPP has partnered with adults, churches and community organizations to plant sweet potatoes that SPP will purchase for products and distribution.
Our vision is to empower a generation of young urban entrepreneurs along with low-income adults who will grow, package and sell fresh produce and food-based products from their own neighborhoods in North St. Louis.
On May 3, several organizations will participate in Give STL Day, a 24-hour giving event that helps local nonprofits. You can support SPP by visiting our Give STL Day page on May 3, and making an online contribution to our work to empower at-risk youth & adults.
